He splits his time between Murals and Tattooing, and spending time with his wife Hannah and their two kids Bennett and Georgia. He is based out of Shipshape Tattoo in Auckland, and travels regularly for both tattooing and mural work.

Meet the Artist
John Feary
I grew up in West Auckland, the youngest of 6 kids to Catholic parents Brian and Janet.
From as early as I can remember, I loved drawing, trying to copy the art of Disney and Looney Tunes, and spending a long time trying to make my school books more interesting.
This developed over time to include drawing geometric and symmetrical art and painting in acrylic and oils.
In 2012 I found tattooing which changed my world. It's awarded me the opportunity to travel internationally and work alongside some of the world's best.
I specialise in Black and Grey Realism, and Geometric/Mandala tattooing, and over the last 4 years have also been painting murals across Auckland, with a goal to also take this internationally.
